HOT or Not? NYX Lingerie Liquid Lip 💄

I recently bought the famous NYX lingerie liquid lipstick to test it out for myself and see what all the hype is about. After wearing it for a full day I finally have my first impression / thoughts on this product;

I first applied the lipstick at 9am without any lip balm, lip primer on my lips. (Background info: I have dry chapped lips most of the time so I was interested to see if the product would stick to the lines in my lips)

I used the Kylie lip liner in Mailboo to line my lips and then applied the product, sadly the product did settle into my lip lines but it was expected as this product was said to be matte and not hydrating. It applied easily without any problems which matches what it says on the website.

When its completely dry, it is definitely matte however it is not transfer proof and if I run my finger along my lips the product does transfer to my fingers but not terribly.

I decided to test out the lipstick with drinking and eating the product didn't move or smudge and looked perfect still after eating and drinking.

I am very impressed with how long this lipstick is lasting and that it hasn't budged at all after eating and drinking.

I was going out and decided to add a tiny bit of lip gloss to my lips, the product didn't move at all and blended beautifully with the gloss.

When I got the lipstick (yesterday at about 1 pm) when I got home I swatched the product on my hand, it wasn't fully dry yet and I tried to take it off with a plain tissue and it was challenging and some still stayed. I had a bath and the product was still the same as I left it and I had washed my hand twice with that swatch on.

You can see how my hand is wet and this swatch has been through wiping of a tissue, two hand washed and a bath and it still stayed on, the only way I was able to take it off was by washing it with soap directly on the swatch with hot water and a lot of rubbing.

My final thoughts:

~ The longevity of the lipstick is absolutely amazing as it lasted from 9am until 5pm when it started getting patchy.

~ The fact that the lipstick only came off when I washed it with soap and hot water is really impressive however at 5 when the lipstick was patchy and I tried to remove it with my normal Neutrogena makeup removing wipes I did have a problem and struggled to take it off and by the time I got it off my lips were feeling quite sore and tender which isn't good. So if thats something that doesn't phase you then I would definitely recommend this lipstick.

~ It was easy to apply, not patchy at all and it could be applied without a lipliner and it would still go on beautifully.

~ The lipstick is comfortable to wear and matte which it claims it should be

~ If you have dry lips like me, I would suggest you apply a thin layer of lip balm or lip primer so the product doesn't settle in your lips fine lines and allow for a more seamless application.

~ The lipstick swatches great as well. In the photo it looks slightly patchy however, I tried to do the swatch with only one side of the dofa application to see how much product you would get on one side and was really impressed at how far you could stretch the product.

~ The price retails for R150 which is definitely worth the money!

All in all I think the NYX lingerie liquid lipstick is HOT HOT HOT and worth the R150!! I will be picking up more shades next time I'm in clicks and I will keep you updated on what I'm thinking. But so far so good and I would most definitely recommend these lipsticks to anyone.
